Preoperative Stage of Lasik Eye Surgery

In the traditional Lasik eye operation procedure hinged corneal flap was created. After anesthetizing the eye with topical eye drops lasik surgeon creates the flap on the eye’s external surface. This is done in order to expose the underlying cornea. The flap can be either created with IntraLase laser or with a microkeratome. Thereafter excimer laser is used for reshaping the cornea and then the flap is replaced.
